the Annual Queer West Film and Video Festival is back for 2nd year at a new
location Fixt Point Theatre in Parkdale. Many of queer videos have never been
viewed before. Likely never seen again in Toronto!
Films shorts screened at the festival
1. Brown Like Me (27 min), short documentary of the journeys of queer
South Asian youth. from Rahim Thawer and Ms Mohini Datta-Ray from ASAAP Alliance
for South Asian AIDS Prevention.
2. If Tomorrow Comes (7 min) , a tongue-in-cheek chick-flick of a love
story about two boys breaking up and getting back together, Danielle Steele

3. Pedro Levantate ( 14 min) - Director Jose Sunsin brings us into the
lives of a Spanish Father and his son, only this time the Father is matchmaker,
setting up his son with the local mechanic -- that way his boy can get a date
and a job! But there is trouble in auto paradise with Loan Sharks threatening

4. Don't Show This Film! (16 min) Two gay characters from an erotic
book are stuck in a box at the border --what's a couple of guys to do? Enjoy
this hilarious, informative take on the history of Canadian censorship, by award

A twenty-something coming of age story of a closeted, young married woman, Jessica
Sutterland (Hannah Hogan) whose life is turned upside-down after a chance meeting
with openly gay Casey (Tracy Rae).
We would also like to gratefully acknowledge the submission from Sara Hass,
Choreographer, Film-maker, Performer/ Writer, Gender-Bender who lives in Savoy
Illinois, USA. for her entry titled "10:10" it arrive by postal mail
on Monday June 22nd, too late for the film festival. !0:10 is a portal into
one women's search for her queer identity. Fundy speed variations, timing effects
and choppy transitions echo her awkward, humorous, and slightly melancholy approach
as she stumbles through her own discrepancies. Figuring and reconfiguring the
masks she must take off. This short black and white film, comments on the socially
constructed, gender history binary we internalize and the liminal spaces we
must explore. Sara Hass received a B.A., in performing Art from Columbia College
in Chicago. She is currently perusing her graduate degree in Dance at the University
